A seminal pop band from Southern California, whose members went on to form Cracker, The BellRays and The Hickman-Dalton Gang. Chris LeRoy and Johnny Hickman were The Dangers way back before Johnny went on to play guitar in The Unforgiven and then co-form Cracker. The Dangers didn't release albums back then, but in 2008 they released Dedication and have continued to release and perform their music. Current members - Chris LeRoy, Bob Vennum, Tim Loughlin & Brad Vaughn.
Chris LeRoy is a songwriter who performs in several bands including The Dangers, The Mighty Grasshoppers, Death of Me and Blue Wagon. The Spirit That Brings Us Here was LeRoy's first venture out as a solo artist.
One-Of-A-Kind underrated album
They don't write 'em like that anymore! Well, Chris LeRoy does, but this particular band will be like the river you just waded into. A little different next time, if we're lucky enough to get a next time. At times this is touching, wrenching, thought-provoking, and rocking. Yeah, all at once. Last Train if you must know, a very great favorite song of mine, since this album was first released.
My highest recommendation on this wonderful piece of work. - Morst
The Mighty Grasshoppers are a rock and roll band, and this rootsy but never retro album is a powerhouse debut and rock show revue.
Review from Michael Toland @ The Big Take Over:
For those wondering what genius guitarist/songwriter Tony Fate is up to after his departure from the BellRays (outside of making casual instrumental solo albums), here’s your answer. Fate hooked up with his singer/songwriter buddy Chris LeRoy to form the roots-rocking Mighty Grasshoppers. click for more
